I have been seeing many specimens that appear to be Operopthera brumata coming in to my deck light, but this appears to be the first O. bruceata. I am looking for confirmation and also what criteria can be used to distinguish the two winter moths.

My understanding is that you really need to examine genitalia (if not DNA) to be sure with these.
