Beetle on Redbud - Chrysobothris femorata
Beavercreek, Greene County, Ohio, USA

There were many of these beetles crawling around and ovipositing on two severely stressed (slowly dying from a flood two years prior) redbuds. This one was photographed on Cercis canadensis 'Forest Pansy' (a purple-leaf cultivar of Eastern Redbud).
