Phengodes laticollis
I would bet according to published accounts stretching back 100 years this is instead a P. laticollis larva especially given its location.
P. nigromaculata are a Florida, Deep south species, similar but smaller. The P. nigromaculata name comes from the dark mark on the males' pronotum, NOT the spotted larvae.
