Thanks--I'll put it here for now, and in a minute I'll add a couple more shots. My eulophids reared from agromyzids have been sent elsewhere (not to Dr. Hansson), and I expect it may be years before anyone examines them.

My wish is granted :-) Thanks, Charley!!
Glad you posted the two additional images. They further cinch the agreement of your specimen here with Girault's 1916 description of Z. interlineata...and clearly illustrate many characters for all who may be curious and wish to learn about these interesting chalcids.

You've done a remarkable job of searching out, rearing, photographing, and building up the BugGuide Zagrammosoma coverage. I'm grateful and in admiration! :-)

Update
Ryan Perry has just revised the genus, and he has resurrected Z. interlineatum. However, I just showed him these photos and he confirmed that this specimen is a male Z. multilineatum.

Wonderful post!
I only wish you were able to get an equally nice dorsal image (showing patterns on meso- and metasoma), and a frontal view of the head.

At any rate, from what is visible in this image, there is excellent agreement with most of the description of Z. interlineata given in 1916 by Girault (which can be read online at this BHL link). If one reads that description carefully...cross-referencing each semicolon-separated phrase with a look at your image...then I think they'll agree that the correspondence is remarkably good!

Gordh (1978), in his discussion on pg. 354 here, synonymized Z. interlineata Girault with Z. multilineatum Ashmead, stating that it was within what he considered the range of variation of the latter, and indicating in his discussion 4 phenotypic groupings of note within his circumscription of a variable conception of Z. multilineatum.

If that circumscription is still adhered to, I guess this likely will be determined as Z. multilineatum.

Two other items:

  1) Gordh lists Liriomyza sativae as a recorded host of Z. multilineatum;

  2) A number of MA records for Z. interlineata appear here (none from Nantucket though, all are inland).
