male size small: length 2.15 +/- 0.16 mm (2)
Identification
Ocular lines prominent; males with enlarged foreleg claws; color extremely variable, ranging from yellowish with faint black spots to almost black speckled with small yellow marks (2)
Range
NM-FL-NS-YK - Map (3)(2)(4)
the most commonly examined species in Canada (over 900 specimens) by Barney et al. (2013). It has also the largest Canadian distribution, being found from Nova Scotia to Yukon. (2)
Food
Large series were reportedly taken on Populus balsamifera and Salix spp. (Salicaceae). (2)
