Barnes & McDunnough (1912) stated "Is closely related to
trifolii and
albifusa but can be most readily separated by the general rough and diffuse appearance, the broad bulbous lower half of the reniform which is often prominently filled with blue-black, and the even s. t. line with scarcely a trace of the W mark."
