Fly ID? - Orthonevra nitida

Fly ID? - Orthonevra nitida
Doddridge County, West Virginia, USA
November 16, 2006
The flowers are dwindling...there's a lot of competition! What is the fly with the weird eyes? I recognize the Syrphid (Toxermerus?) and the Halictids (Augochlora pura?), but the little fly with the folded wings and light striped eyes is a mystery. I hope someone will be able to at least get me to some level of ID with these three images.
