Forewing length length 12–16 mm.
(3)Identification
Extensive pale areas of forewings are bright yellow; reniform and orbicular spots are bright yellow, as is a broad streak extending from the claviform spot to the terminal line.

central Oregon to southern California and eastward from California to Nevada, southern Arizona and central New Mexico

adults from early September to late October

The larvae feed on general herbaceous vegetation and often occur on cultivated crops of peppermint.

Euxoa cicatricosa has dark gray-brown forewings with fine silver-gray streaking and the reniform and orbicular spots have dark central spots.
