Aristotelia calens

Aristotelia calens
Crystal Cove State Park, Orange County, California, USA
December 7, 2013
Compare to Steve Nanz's image on MPG. Note especially dark markings on cilia and spot pattern along costa which seem to be distinct from most other SoCal Aristotelia.

Note: A. calens seems to be the correct name for this species; "A. callens" as used on BG, MPG, and Hodges's checklist seems to be a mispelling that has become widely used. But see Meyrick's original description in Exotic Microlepidoptera for the correct spelling.
