Scale on Bur Oak - Not What I Thought

Scale on Bur Oak - Not What I Thought
Desoto, Dallas County, Texas, USA
August 27, 2013
It recovered itself and I continued to watch it, but I'm sure that the conditions were not optimal and it all just kind of dried up, leaving me with a mystery.

Euclemensia
I can't find any photos of Euclemensia larvae, but that must be what this is, since they feed on this type of scale insect. Beautiful moths; it would be great if you can raise some. A new species was described from Louisiana two years ago; could conceivably be that one.

5965 – Baphala pallida?
Charlie - do you have info on Baphala pallida? The info here says they feed on Kermesidae and Coccidae. The image posted here does appear to be that species.

I don't
Thanks for letting me know. I wish we had clear photos of the Baphala larvae to compare. These may or may not be the same thing, but I don't know for sure that they're Euclemensia, so I don't know what to do with them at this point. Maybe move to "unidentified microlep immature stages" for now?

Scale Insect
Thanks so much. I know my running comments might have been confusing, but just to keep them together I'll link this image to
