Phyllocnistis magnoliella - Phyllocnistis liriodendronella

Phyllocnistis magnoliella - Phyllocnistis liriodendronella
Pelham, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA
July 31, 2013
Size: 3.3 mm
I believe this species will eventually be synonymized with P. liriodendronella (Don Davis told me there is only one species mining magnolia and tuliptree as far as he can tell), but until that's official, this Phyllocnistis reared from Magnolia gets to be Phyllocnistis magnoliella.

Your note is 7 yrs old now. Any news? Should I add this to MPG?

You can add it...
...but Don and I are indeed synonymizing this with liriodendronella in the new checklist.
