I realized I had it wrong as soon as I posted it. My lawn was full of these this fall.
Is this in fact a brachypterous adult, or is it actually a last instar nymph?

 
adult, sure; nymphal wingpads would've been fused w/scutellum
anthocorids do not show up en masse; hardly any predators do
