Green, rather than orangish, true legs and white pines are diagnostic for
L. bombycoides
. Additionally,
L. coniferarum
is rather localized in NY, being found primarily in pine barrens type habitat with an abundance of pitch pine.

We seem to remember that Ryan wants to know the color of the true legs also. But then again, location may be all that he needs!
