strongly marked leafhopper - Balcanocerus chisosus

strongly marked leafhopper - Balcanocerus chisosus
Austin, Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center, Travis County, Texas, USA
December 19, 2013
Size: about 4 mm
Two views of the same insect.

Found on Rhus virens (evergreen sumac). It seems close to Idiocerus chisosus, but I'm not sure if the range includes central TX. This plant is likely the host, as a distinctly marked Idiocerus nymph was photographed on the same plant two months ago.

Moved
Moved from Idiocerus.
