Basacallis tarachodes is the only member of the genus in America north of Mexico. (2)

Cashatt (1984) listed the wingspan as 16-23 mm. (3)

South Carolina and Florida to Arkansas and Texas; Mexico to Panama. (4)
Season
Records of adults in January to May, August, and December in Florida. (4)

Host is unknown. (4)
See Also
Arta olivalis has median area concolorous with AM and PM areas and PM line closer to outer margin. The outer margin may have black dashes but usually not as extensively as in Basacallis.



Condylolomia participalis lacks scale tufts on femora, has darker PM area, and has red fringe.



Parachma ochracealis has scale tufts on tarsi.
