This is a Scaphinotus, perhaps S. fissicollis.
Sphaeroderus are largely absent from Arkansas. There is an undescribed species in the Mena area, Polk Co., and it seems to have a very small range.
Where did you find this beauty? Under a rock? I collect these not far from Marshall.

I found this beetle crawling on my basement door. I can only speculate that the 4" of rain we received the day before might have force it out of the ground.
