Beetle? - Selonodon sagittiformis
Palestine, Anderson County, Texas, USA

I think this is a beetle, but not sure. Found it while searching for moths at the porch light. Fairly heavily forested area with creeks and ponds nearby.

Moved very tentatively
The image does not allow for good morphologic diagnosis, but the holotype for this species is Anderson County (Salmon). There are other eastern TX species to consider however...

Please crop your pics...
...as close to "just the bug" as possible. Only you and the editors have the option of viewing the full-size image. Everyone else is left looking at a little bug in a lot of unnecessary background. :)

You can click on "edit" and simply upload a cropped version. It will replace the current image.
