Centipede - Bothropolys multidentatus

Centipede - Bothropolys multidentatus
Great Falls Park, Fairfax County County, Virginia, USA
December 28, 2013
My current guess is "garden centipede" (Lithobius forficatus) based upon http://www.fcps.edu/islandcreekes/ecology/garden_centipede.htm
However, they are not supposed to be active during the winter.

Bothropolys multidentatus
You will notice that it has triangular projections on segments 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, and 13, whereas Lithobius forficatus, which is the same size, has projections only on segments 9, 11, and 13. Both are very common, and they are not typically active in the winter but lifting whatever they are hibernating in can wake them up pretty readily.
