Ex. from a Lindgren funnel trap by Jerry Wilson. Very small, believe it's a Nitidulid? Confirmation and ID would be appreciated....

nice.... suspect it's C. pilosellus
a female, unfortunately; hope you find & photograph more specimens of it

Thanks V.
I have some more specimens to look at, that Jerry sent me in a vial from his Lindgren trap. If I come upon another is there any particular image you are looking for to determine C. pilosellus?

i would certainly prefer vouchered images
i.e. a good dorsal & ventral habitus shots, as you do routinely [although here the dorsal is not as straight-down as it takes for comparison purposes] --and the specimen submitted to an expert to confirm the ID by examining the privates (Brad or perhaps Andy Cline who's reviewing our fauna; among our nits, Carpophilus & Epuraea present the most problems at this point, ID-wise, and need much taxonomic work, so sending specimens to Andy would be a really good idea)

Or I would be happy....
to look at any carpophilus specimens, I have a shipping address on my page if you are interested.
