Spodoptera
It's definitely a Spodoptera, but it doesn't look like any of the 7 species I've collected from the Southeast. The only one I can think it might be is S. androgea. That would be a good find, but since I've never seen it personally, I wouldn't feel safe calling the ID without getting a second opinion...
