This ant was attracted to an illuminated white sheet at night at Mt. Wrightson Picnic Area at the end of Madera Canyon Road during Bugguide Gathering 2013.

It's head appears to have a raised collar-like preoccipital margin. That, and the inner margin of its mandible at midlength being moderately convex, keys it to N. pilosus in Snelling 2007(1). However, the author states other Neivamyrmex photographed at the same event are probably N. harrisi. Both species are recorded from southern AZ.
