Excellent - Tropidia albistyl
Excellent - Tropidia albistylum, a new species for BugGuide! Note the red base of the hind femur, unlike the common T. quadrata where the femur is entirely black.

The triangular plate on the h
The triangular plate on the hind femur is present in one of these photos, so it should be either Tropidia or Cynorhinella. The wing veins dm-cu and M1 seem almost continuous, which is distinctive of Tropidia between the two. The other good character would be the facial profile, but it's not visible in these photos.

No problem! I've learned a ton from others sharing such gory details, and it helps me make sure I'm on the right track. Lovely images, by the way! (the higher resolution meant I could confirm the wing veination, which was very helpful; such clear eyes!)
