Diptera identification needed... - Sarcophaga

I photographied that diptera (probably family Sarcophagidae) on my lilac last July in Sherbrooke Quebec Canada (near Vermont/Maine)... Is it possible to know the genum, species, gender?

Thank you very much in advance,

Michel

Flesh Fly (Sarcophaga sp. )
Combination of fairly slender outline, bright reddish compound eyes and robust hairy legs is the hallmark for this genus. Telling the species is much more tricky, because several very similar species exist. I think this specimen is a female.

Hello Richard,

Thank you very much for your help...

At first I thought it is S. carnaria but after doing some searches, I didn't find any mentions of it in Quebec neither in North America...

Why do you think it is a female?

Thank you very much!

Michel
