24 spp. (in 2 subgenera) in our area (all but one sp. are in the nominate subgenus; our spp. are arranged into 9 species-groups), 75 spp. in 3 subgenera total(1)
Identification
Prominent lengthwise grooves on top of head and pronotum(2)

Range
New World, more diverse in the Neotropics; in our area, most spp. restricted to so. US but several widespread in the east (3 reach Canada) and a couple, in the west(1)
