Moved from ID Request. It looks like it might be Pirata/Piratula. Was it smaller than most wolf spiders?

 
Pretty small
Lynette, it was pretty small, but not tiny. The abdomen was about 1/2".

 
Just the abdomen?
That would make it a really big spider. Do you mean the length of the spider (legs not included) was about .5 inches? If it wasn't fairly small then maybe we should consider Trochosa instead

Trochosa at first too, the dark color threw me for a moment.

.5 inches included cephalothorax
Hi Lynette, the 1/2 inch estimate did not include legs, but did include cephalothorax.
