Which Valgus species? - Valgus seticollis -

Size: about 7 mm

Here the beetle is fresh from a bath. The pale setae are made translucent by the water, revealing the reddish base color of the elytra and pygidium (abdomenal tip). When wet, V. set*icollis is very dark brown all over.
