Bug? - Aradus

Bug? - Aradus
DNR Sturgeon River Sloughs Wildlife Area, Houghton County, Michigan, USA
May 29, 2013
This bug(?) was in my car when I got back from my walk at a wetland area. My car was parked next to an uncultivated field.
There were second growth hardwoods nearby. The location is in the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan near Lake Superior.

Moved

Might be Aradus proboscideus...
which is a highly variable species (acc. Parshley 1921). I've examined proboscideus from Michigan. Not sure enough to move it but think it likely.

Moved tentatively
there is an A. subruficeps Hussey described from, and still not known to occur outside Michigan, but based on the trivial name alone i doubt your bug may be it; i've seen a similar specimen from Brazos Co., TX recently in TAMUIC and keyed it out to cincticornis
nice find in any case -- keep'em coming!

Moved from Aradus.

acutus? wait for the experts; left hemelytron missing
Moved from ID Request.

Flat Bug — Aradidae
I'm not confident narrowing it down more than that—wait for an expert. For now browse here:
