Lasioglossum pavonotum
Thanks, John, for the ID.

It appears that all the L. pavonotum in Bugguide at this time (2 individuals, not counting the dead one; 1 from Marin Co. and one from Monterey Co.)were found on Sea Rocket, Cakile maritima.

Coincidence?

The serious drought we are about a year into has reduced the availability of flowers, of course. (To zilch, in the main.) Also, these small guys may be easier to spot when the background is sand. Is 2 out of 2 statistically significant here?
