Hippopotamus Beetle -
Salpingus viridiaeneus
Sherwood, Washington County, Oregon, USA
January 28, 2014
Size: 3 mm
Found on bark of fallen trees at night. They reflect the light of my headlamp in a coppery, slightly greenish color. Upon magnification their heads remind me of hippopotami.
