Lobrathium? - Lobrathium grande

Lobrathium? - Lobrathium grande
Hudson's Hope, British Columbia, Canada
June 18, 2013
Size: 12 mm
A large paederine collected in ne BC, near the Peace River. I think it is Lobrathium sg. Eulathrobium sp. (has the parallel lateral carina just above the elytral pleuron, strongly dilated tarsi) and appears similar to specimens of grande that I have examined, however that species' known distribution is quite eastern. Other large species of Lobrathium are not yet known to me.

Any ideas?
The specimen is at the Royal British Columbia Museum. I can try to get better photos another day, if needed.

Next generation sequence match 99% to Lobrathium grande. This is a significant range extension that I'll report soon.

Yes, could be Lobrathium
If it has the keel above the elytral margin, yes, it should be Lobrathium. There are at least seven species of the genus recorded from BC and several more from adjoining areas that could also be in BC. I'm not familiar with them, though, and couldn't say if this matches any of them.

Thank you!
Thanks again Dr. Thayer!
I have reviewed the available descriptions and it is closest to L. grande but perhaps more slender than the typical specimens of that species... I am hesitant to put that name on it for now.
