Dragonfly ID help needed - Sympetrum corruptum - male - female

Dragonfly ID help needed - Sympetrum corruptum - Male Female
Merced National Wildlife Refuge, Merced County, California, USA
November 26, 2013
Based on looking at photos on http://www.odonatacentral.org I'm guessing these could Libellula saturata (Flame Skimmer), Sympetrum corruptum (Variegated Meadowhawk), or Sympetrum semicinctum (Band-winged Meadowhawk), but this is my first time trying to identify dragonflies so I'm very uncertain.

Sympetrum corruptum. In this
Sympetrum corruptum. Also, in this photo, the two yellow spots on the side of the thorax are visible, which I believe are diagnostic. Welcome to Bugguide.

yellow dots
Once you've keyed it to Sympetrum then the yellow dots are diagnostic for S. corruptum. Plethemis lydia and Libellula pulchella also have yellow dots on the thorax (though other markings obviously separate them from Sympetrums!).
