C. oregona - Cicindela oregona

C. oregona - Cicindela oregona
Navajo Dam Community, San Juan County, New Mexico, USA
April 14, 2010
Size: 12.5mm
On the shores of the San Juan River. All of the tigers I observed on this day were reddish C. oregona, C. repanda and possible C. decemnotata (which I had in hand and that's when it escaped :(. This one was also reddish but faded after putting in acetone to clear up the yellowish maculations. This was the only variant that had this wide of maculations, I had not seen before and I first thought it was a different species.
