tiphiid wasp?? - Eumenes fraternus - Male
Cobb County/Marietta County, Georgia, USA
September 20, 2006
Not one of my best shots, but there's next year and I'd like to get a start on learning more about these, and flies.
Possible tiphiid wasp of some type?
Thanks!

Thank you! Like most insects,
Thank you! Like most insects, the tiny bit I've learned is primarily from here. Very much appreciated, and I'll make note for later reference . Please feel free to purge.

Male Eumenes.
This is a male potter wasp in the genus Eumenes. I can tell by the curled tips of the antennae. Note the wings folded longitudinally, which rules out tiphiids.
