I forgot they were using some of my pics
I wonder if the brown stripes separate this from the Bowl and Doily spider's solid brown and white colors.

Nearctic Spiders calls it
F. communis here

Synonym
Wikipedia lists F. pyramitela as a synonym of F. communis.
Should the name be changed in the guide?

Ah! we didn't think of that
We think we're using Spiders of North America as the reference for BugGuide and here's what they say:
"pyramitela (Walckenaer 1841). SYN communis Hentz 1850, pyramidea Marx 1890 (misspelling). Blauvelt 1936, Ch&I 1944, Kaston 1948, G&Da 1946, Mill. 1984b, Crawford 1988; widespread in Canada, U.S.A., Mexico, and West Indies. The synonymy of communis is difficult to evaluate, as the Abbot drawing on which the name pyramitela is based has not been published (RC)."
So they are putting communis in synonymy with pyramitela. Looks like we should have left it where it was. Maybe Jeff will chime in on this one.

Bowl and Doily
It looks like a good match. Tanks John and Jane.

Reminds us of
Linyphiidae, maybe Frontinella. See what you think while we wait for Jeff.
