Sphinx larva - Protambulyx strigilis

Sphinx larva - Protambulyx strigilis
Coconut Creek, Broward County, Florida, USA
February 7, 2014
Streaked Sphinx - Hodges#7818 (Protambulyx strigilis)??? I suppose, on SCHINUS.

Might be useful for new county and larva image. K. Thanks!

Moved- Yes, Protambulyx strigilis
Moved from ID Request.

This is the first larval image for this species on Bugguide, very nice!

Ryan St. Laurent thank you! and FYI to others as well:
This larvae WHIPS its body BACK AND FORTH as a defense, and if you let it smack your hand, it actually give a bit of a THWAP. Have seen this in other larvae, but nothing as consistently strong as this thing. I have it on video if anyone would like to see it, I can pass it along. K.
