Leptoglossus? - Leptoglossus fulvicornis

Leptoglossus? - Leptoglossus fulvicornis
Guelph, Central Ontario, Ontario, Canada
September 10, 2006
This specimen was feeding on Cucumber Tree (Magnolia acuminata) in the Guelph Arboretum. I believe it to be in the genus Leptoglossus but am not familiar with the genera of coreidae. If anyone knows what species it is please let me know.

Thanks

Leptoglossus fulvicornis looks okay...
I've looked at this image at least half a dozen times and pretty much every time gone back to double-check the ID. Every time I find myself agreeing that it is L. fulvicornis. Furthermore, the specimen was found on magnolia, which in my recollection is the preferred host for this species and supports that the species is more commonly found in the Southeast.

I suspect that, while it technically seems to be found in Ontario, destruction of arboreta and other man-made havens for magnolia would result in the extirpation of this species from Canada, viz. it does not occur naturally in the northern North America.

Moved from Leptoglossus.

Not Leptoglossus - Oops
Initially thought it to be Acanthocephala terminalis without really looking at it (based on distribution) but agree with Boris that it is a Leptoglossus. Species confirmation will hopefully be coming soon.

I now found out what it is.

Seems to be an interesting case
Can you estimate size?

We already have two more, probably wrongly identified:

ID confirmed by R.J. Packauskas:
"Certainly looks like L. fulvicornis, which has records from NY state to FL, not surprised to find it there."
