My best guess is Sphaerophori
My best guess is
Sphaerophoria
- body shape and general pattern (including vague thoracic stripes). The abdominal pattern bears some similarity to
Toxomerus politus
, but the eye doesn't feel notched enough to me.
Edit - hmm, some of the
Toxomerus politus
flies have a narrower body habitus than I expected, e.g.
so it may be
T. politus
or a more neotropical
Toxomerus
that we don't have as much info for here on BugGuide.
