Araneus cingulatus - female

Araneus cingulatus - Female
Epping, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, USA
August 20, 2009
I believe this little spider is Araneus cingulatus but would like someone to confirm the ID if possible. This is the only shot I got of this tiny beauty and unfortunately, I did not get a body length. I went through images on BugGuide and compared my image to this one

The spider was beneath the backdoor light at night.

Thanks,
Siobhan

Moved
Moved from Spiders. I can't really tell.. is this a male or are those just shadows?

male or female?
Lynette, I went back to the original photo and played with some of the adjustments. It is hard to tell because the pedipalps are not in focus. But I believe this is a female, I think those are just shadows.

Thanks
for adding that info Siobhan.

Nice find!
We would agree with cingulatus, but we're still struggling trying to find out what nashoba looks like. Let's see what others think.
