T. chloromerus - Neotibicen tibicen - female

T. chloromerus - Neotibicen tibicen - Female
Madison, Madison County, Mississippi, USA
August 20, 2006
The T. tibicen here in Mississippi have an all black mesonotum with occasionally a tiny lateral patch of russet that can be seen on this specimen. The T. tibicen from the East coast (at least the Northeast) have much larger lateral russett patches. Picture was taken with a flash. That is why it looks like it was taken at night. T. tibicen has a noticeably larger mesothorax than the other Mississippi Tibicens.
