Psychidae, spent pupal case - Psyche casta - female

Psychidae, spent pupal case - Psyche casta - Female
Heritage Valley, Allamakee County, Iowa, USA
June 28, 2009
Size: 3.5 mm
Update on this batch rearing:
November 26, 2015: I'm not sure I understand this photo. What is it that appears to be falling out of the pupa? A moth that didn't quite emerge? Except that it is appears to be about 1/2 the length of the pupa.
Any thoughts?

That's just...
the front flap of the pupal skin, which split apart as the adult emerged.

Oh golly,
I knew that. I think I was caught off guard with the "eyes" looking at me.
Thanks.
