Over the years I've found several different moth larvae on Lead plant but have had mostly (not all) failure in rearing.

Pococera
Pococera baptisiella has been reared from leadplant in Illinois; that probably is what this is.

It's a lovely larva
and a lovely moth. Too bad it didn't work out to rear.
Thanks much!

It is built like a Pococera, such as Pococera expandens,
but when we do a host plant search on Amorpha, the only pyralid we get is Sciota vetustella???

Again, it could have been
on lead plant accidentally. If that's the case then it wouldn't have eaten and that's why it died. Not it's host plant.
But usually I do note if the larva is not eating and also note the plants I try to feed it.

Rearing often brings up more questions than are answered.
