Chlaenius prasinus - female

Chlaenius prasinus - Female
under cobble along North Bosque River - CR 248 bridge crossing at HWY 6 intersection, Erath County, Texas, USA
June 20, 2012
Size: about 17mm
I believe this to be Chlaenius prasinus, which is not yet in the guide.

Keyed using Bell monograph, run through Bousquet 2010 and it keyed to C. prasinus as well.

Key traits include lateral margin of elytra rounded into basal margin - not angular, disc of pronotum entirely punctate, head with erect dorsal setae and mentum toothed.

If I need to provide any further traits or information for the identification please let me know.

Moved tentatively; will seek confirmation
thanks again, Jesse.

Moved from Vivid Metallic Ground Beetles.

Chleanius prasinus is consistent with posted
data, observed characters, and my comparison of the image with specimens at hand.

Thanks v
Hopefully an expert can confirm the identification - I have a few more trays of Chlaenius to sort through so maybe I will find a few more to add.
