Range?
Is this the northern limit of its range? The species does not appear in the 1965 catalog of Diptera north of Mexico.

 
A 1919
Specimen under another name was found to be this animal. Not sure how extensive the TX records are recently however.

 
Andrenosoma sicarium (McAtee)
Andrenosoma sicarium (McAtee) is the junior synonym of A. xanthocnemum (Wied.). Recent records from Texas are scarce; the species is primarily neotropical.
