Scaphisoma ? Thanks, Paul

thanks again, John
Moved from Hydrocanthus.

Hydrocanthus probably oblongus
Coloration is most like H. oblongus, but outside chance it could be H. iricolor, but that species tends to have elytra darker than pronotum. A good ventral shot of a male would clinch ID.

Moved tentatively
Moved from Beetles.

Noteridae vs. Dytiscidae
got a dorsal shot?

Perhaps the same beetle
This might be the same beetle--Paul and I were working at the same site:

I did not get a photo of the venter, unfortunately. Any ideas on my photo would be appreciated, of course.
