Quite large, maybe 2 inches or so? Wish I'd taken an actual measurement.

Sawfly in the family Siricidae. Wasps in the genus Megarhyssa (your other two photos) are parasitoids of Siricid larvae.

 
Host
The only siricid larva they parasitize are those of Tremex columba.

 
Horntail
Sawflies are not in the family Siricidae
