Bostrichid - Heterobostrychus aequalis
Fort Pierce, St. Lucie County, Florida, USA
December 6, 2006
Size: 10mm
Funky projections on the elytra

Moved from Heterobostrychus.

Moved from Amphicerus.

See comments from Dr. Thomas here.

Sure looks like Amphicerus. Dillons (1) illustrate Amphicerus hamatus, the Apple Twig Borer, 6-12 mm. Only male has the elytral spines, they say.
See also Oklahoma State University. lists 4 species.
Beetles of Florida lists A. hamatus and A. cornutus. Of the latter, here are some images.

Thanks! If I find a key, perhaps I can get it to species from the photo, as I did not collect it.
