Hi padkison
I know it's been a while since you posted this, but I'm wondering if you can confirm that you took these images in Cary, NC?

Yes
padkison is deceased, but he did live in Cary NC, so these are most likely taken there

is this not coloradensis?

just back to the old school of thought that carolinensis is entirely jet black ventrally. Either way, this is a great looking spider.

I
thought the venter was black on the Carolina wolf. Do you have any dorsal views of this and the other wolf?
The orange venter should make for an easy ID, though.
