Explanation of Names
Genistogethes carinulatus (Förster 1849)
usually slightly under 2 mm.
The species is quite similar to Fabogethes nigrescens; usually front legs are paler than others (not sufficient for discrimination). First sternite with impressed lines in middle well distant from hind margin of metacoxae (see fig. 2 for understanding). In males, metasternum widely, distinctly impressed in center; last sternite with raised, transverse ridge, this ridge slightly bent forwards in middle, about as long as 1/3rd of basal width of sternite.
