Leptopsilopa atrimana (Loew)
Moved from Shore Flies. ID'd from specimen, now a photo-voucher. Thanks John.

Thanks Brad!
Nice to have the species of another interesting little fly.

Found these in my yard as well
On a whim, I did a little sweep-netting in the yard after it had been mowed. This fly was very common, although I had never noticed it before.

I imagine a lot of these little flies
are common but seldom noticed. When I was sweeping these this spring I would often have dozens in the net but they weren't noticeable in the grass, at least not to my aging nearsighted eyes.

Moved
Moved from Flies.

Thanks Terry.
