Guide Page Correction ??

This Image was ID'd for me by Lyle Buss (UFL Entomology) as Piezodorus guildinii .

The Piezodorus guildinii guide page references a common name "Small Green Stink Bug".
I believe the common name should be "Red Shouldered" or "Red Banded" Stink Bug.

If I "Google" Piezodorus guildinii - the common name reference is about half & half for Red banded or Red Shouldered.

Not completely wrong
If you search on "small green stink bug Piezodorus" there are at least a couple of references that use that common name. It may be that we need to set the preferred common name field to "Red Shouldered" or "Red Banded" Stink Bug, but list the others as alternate common names.

Agreed
This sounds good to me - any inputs welcome.
I do believe the preferred common name should reflect Red Shouldered or Red Banded as these seem to be the more popular and provide a more accurate description.

Looking at the guide page
I notice there's a quote at the bottom:

"No common name is currently recognized by the Entomological Society of America for Piezodorus guildinii; however, consultants, producers and extension agents in Louisiana and Texas have been referring to this insect as the red shouldered stink bug. This choice of common name has led to some confusion, because Thyanta species are also referred to by this common name."

It would seem that both names were known when the page was created, and the less-common name was chosen to avoid potential for ambiguity. That complicates things, as I don't want to second-guess someone else's judgement without a good, compelling reason.

Good catch
I agree, it's probably best left as is.
